High Cholesterol Homeopathic Remedies

Cholesterol is a fatty substance found in the blood, cells, and tissues. It originates from two sources: Exogenous (85%, made by the liver) and endogenous (15%, found in food). The body uses cholesterol to make vitamin D and certain hormones such as cortisone, and estrogen. High cholesterol levels can increase your chance of getting heart disease, stroke, and other problems.Cholesterol and blood can be compared to water and oil, they don't mix. There are many types of cholesterol:
  • Total cholesterol - all the cholesterols combined
  • High density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol - often called "good" cholesterol
  • Low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol - often called "bad" cholesterol

Normal cholesterol is essential for cellular repair and development. So take good care to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grain. Get more active. Exercise can raise your HDL and may help you lose weight, if you need to.  Stop smoking, limit alcohol and caffeine consumption, avoid fast food and most importantly reduce stress. Do practice relaxation and breathing exercises.
